Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a semi-autonomous body responsible for promoting, developing

and regulating the capital markets industry in Uganda, with the overall objectives of investor protection

and market efficiency. It was established in 1996 following the enactment of the Capital Markets

Authority Act (Cap 64) as amended.

Research & Market Development Department invites applications for a graduate trainee program

within its department. The candidate will gain hands-on experience in Market Development of the

capital markets including Report Writing, data analytics, risk assessment and Stakeholder Engagements

among other dynamic learning opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration

(Finance), Commerce or related disciplines with first class or upper second awarded in a period not

exceeding two (2) years by the date of application.

The desired candidate(s) should demonstrate strong interest in the capital markets industry, strong

intellectual skills with the ability to comprehend technical matters pertaining to the area of training and

demonstrate a high degree of social skills, self-awareness and self-motivation. The candidate(s) shall

demonstrate a high potential to progress to a level required for a substantive position at the Authority

by the end of the program.
